3DMark05
A friend of mine got a new PC a couple days ago, and he showed me the 3DMark05 demo thingie with that Space Marine blasting everything away.
HOLY SHIT DOES IT LOOK GOOD! :icon28: :icon28: :icon28:
Anyone seen it? It's as good as the UE3 demo for the PS3, maybe even better. (Ran like shit on his brand-spanking new PC though.)

odd, on my first run, I only got 19,153 points? Althought you have a BFG, and i have just a GT, but i have a AMD 3200 and you a P4 2500, we both have the same ram...Turbanator wrote:my system aint all that great tbh...

Very odd, and worrying why mine is so low...

Yes, but 5,000 points? The demos displayed in 01 are minimum detail at best. They require nothing like the PC we both have, and so its obvious that we would both get a good score. But 5000 points more is a HUGE leap in score for something so small, wouldn't you say?SplishSplash wrote:His CPU and his gfx card are faster and you wonder how he got a higher score?

Great, even more worryTurbanator wrote:there is something a bit off with your system, I was looking through some text files, and when I had this system without the 6800u, just with a ati 9800 pro (hated that card), I got 18,500 in 01SE.
My system DOES run great. 60 frames constant in doom 3 ultra detial at 1280x1024.
But if what your saying is true, then eh? Or maybe there really Is that much of a jump from the GT to the BFG, and not so much from the 9800 to the GT in terms of what "needs" to be done in these old demos?
Anybody else here have a system like mine that can test?

Don't you have an uber 1337 system at GAME?
Dunno, we can't even afford a PC, we have a 133 in the back :lol:Doombrain wrote:o'dium wrote:Great, even more worryTurbanator wrote:there is something a bit off with your system, I was looking through some text files, and when I had this system without the 6800u, just with a ati 9800 pro (hated that card), I got 18,500 in 01SE.![]()

this thread may have finally made me realise how much of a dipshit i am for constantly pissing around with my hardware...
edit: to clarify... i've been costing up a overhaul on my desktop and my server, and reading this makes me realise how pointless it'll be considering all i'd probably notice is an increase in 3d marks which i run about once every 6 months.

I don't. I have "never" overclocked my CPU or GPU. I spent enough money on this system, and it performs fantastic for "me". Why would I want to risk messing it up or take a few years off its life just for another 10 FPS?Turbanator wrote:this thread may have finally made me realise how much of a dipshit i am for constantly pissing around with my hardware...
Maybe in a year or so when my 3200 is back down on the "low end" cpu list (Its near enough now dammit), and I'm eyeing up those 5600 CPU's, I'll clock mine for a while before I get a new one.
Its just to much risk for me.
If it's a Pro10600 with ColorBus or GMG I’ll put you in my todo list.o'dium wrote:Dunno, we can't even afford a PC, we have a 133 in the back :lol:Doombrain wrote:o'dium wrote: Great, even more worry![]()

Might pop in later though to see the store manager and ask him why his employees are abusing people on GAMEs internet access, which I’m pretty sure is against the law.
