Retain the copies and move them back after, but you should get the result you are looking for.

Isn't there some folder that Firefox reads as the default bookmark folder? Not the IE one.

I think FF uses an XML file.

Bad idea, you are using IE anyway because windows explorer is pretty much that.

Nah explorer works fine, I've kept the IE core, because you need that for displaying feeds in Xfire and such, but the ie component (browser) I've removed.

I put the folders into favorites (the one that ie uses) import and it worked. I guess that's the only way of importing initially.

Nope, it wants to save as document. That's the only thing that's broken, but I never used explorer to browse the net anyway.

Only if I allow it access to the net. There's a lot of programs that allow you to do that which have nothing to do with IE.

I think MS tried to make the big excuse some time ago when the EU told them to remove IE from Windows, but MS said it's not possible since it's too heavily tied to the OS. lolz...

On a normal system it should access the internet but anyway, doesn't matter I just think removing ie fully is bad. Not all sites support firefox and ie is sort of part of the system (windows update, etc)

No argument here about removing it. I keep it for that purpose, other than that I just leave it alone and don't use it.
About the other thing, why would you want WE to have internet access? I've never found a reason or need to.

How would you limit it then? zonealarm? Bah I don't use firewalls like that just have my router setup to prevent ddos attacks and log connections.

Yeah I block it with a firewall. But once again, why would you need WE to have internet access?

I have no idea, but I know that IE is the same as Windows Explorer and unless you do some nifty tricks you can't really avoid it. I think my main point is that IE is part of the OS.
