I was looking at picking this up for Forza.

One of the top guys in the game (Albus - if you've seen the online scoreboards) uses one (a wheel, I mean, not sure which brand), so I am guessing that there are some out there that work well enough.
If you've used this one, or any, I'd appreciate feedback.
Wife is out of town for a few days, so I have the chance to pick up all the useless toys I can without having to justify the purchase to her beforehand...married folks you probably know what I am talking about here. Always easier to ask for forgiveness instead of permission.
heh.
Anyone ever used this wheel (or any wheel) for the Xbox

Get Steel Battalion instead.
I've never been a big fan of wheels to be honest, except for on the pc. Console games are meant to be played with a controller.
If you like mech games though and can find a used Steel Battalion game in good condition I do recommend it. Comes with a huge 3 foot 60 button controler and foot pedals.

I had steel battalion, and sold it to some person in canada for 199 USD.
I wish I would have had the chance to play it more, but I didn't have an optimal table/chair setup to accomodate the controller and foot pedals setup. Also, most of the buttons didn't serve very important purposes...
I originally bought it for the multiplayer option, but never even bought the xbox live game (can't even remember the title...) because it was reviewed as an utterly buggy pile of shit.

The wheels I am looking at now -
That fanatec Speedster 3 wheel. Its $150 bones, though, and I don't really want to drop that on a controller that I am unsure about. Pelican has a 30 dollar racing wheel (the pelican cobra tt) - but I will NEVER buy another pelican product again after getting their POS light rifle for the xbox. They advertise themselves as having this kickass customer support - but they are totally worthless. The box the gun comes in says that it supports 'some' HDTV - so I got it from ebay (a story I've already told regardin the shitty seller.) The gun doesn't support HDTV (according to a response I got from customer support.)
They completely stopped responding to me after I sent them a picture of the box with the words "supports some HDTV" circled, followed by the cust.support comment.
So, on that note, I'd recommend anyone else avoid that company's products like the plague as well (unless you've had better luck).
The mad catz MC2 has gotten some really mixed reviews. Gamespot said it was a piece of unresponsive shit that was very difficult to get a feel for, even after many hours of play.
