Another Sony PSP topic

Post by tnf »

My wife asked if I wanted one for my birthday.

From those of you that have it - yay or nay?

Is the format going to be supported by most movies - i.e. can we be expecting PSP releases at the same time as, or soon after, DVD releases?

Do you really want to buy a movie TWICE just to watch it on a PSP?
Only buying it for the PSP doesn't seem to make much sense, as it has lower quality. Better solution would be to buy the DVD and rip it to memory stick (which are expensive as well).

Buy it for the games, not for the video, I say.

Yes. Get it. The choice of games right now may be a little bit lacking, but I'm sure this won't be a problem in the future.

Can you really think of a time when you've been away from your house, away from a cinema, and been able to carry something like a PSP, where you've wanted to sit down for several hours to watch a movie?

If you can think of such a time, can you think of enough of them to make it worth the cost of a PSP + Accessories + Media + Batteries/Charging?

...and if you can still think of enough justification for that, is buying a handheld the right solution, or is restructuring whatever the fuck you're doing with your life to leave you sat for hours at a time doing absolutely nothing a more worthwhile investment?

Only example I can think of where a handheld could be useful is commuting, and I think you own a car.

tnf, to get the best from your PSP, you have to know people
who have them. Ridge Racer WiFi owns the shit out of
everything. We have 4 way races in my office, soon to be
5 when another of the lads gets his through :o
