i haven't looked at prices in awhile, the 970 evo plus 1TB goes for 229.99 cad. on amazon. last time i checked it was 500+

You have to wonder regards an unnamed source. Thanks for the post as it reminds me to add to my 2020 'to do list' to start the replacement of my PC HDDs (add SSDs) or at least back them up.

Not to hijack the topic SoM but mind if I ask a question to those that read read?
I have 4 x 320GB in the wardrobe from an old RAID setup as don't think I'll do RAID again, does anyone?

I've already got 2x512G NVMEs in this one, one as a boot drive for each OS. Don't know if it's worth it to get anything bigger since I don't have a third M2 slot...
