Wow, the quintessential group of bro-dude squids. Riding ZX-14R's and Hayabusa's in shorts and shirts while having your Valentino Rossi branded AGV helmet strapped to the side of your bike. Dude, it won't do much protecting your head while it's sat there. It's a group of bikers that just confirms every negative stereotype people have about bikers. Sad stuff.YourGrandpa wrote:We were having some fun with a group of sports bikes.

Yeah, I didn't quite get why that entire group of riders had helmets strapped to their bikes. Either you ride with or without a helmet. I guess it's for when they plan to do something that they think might get them killed... Like putting on the helmet is going to be a difference maker when you crash at 140mph. And most riders here only wear jackets when it's cold. That day was jacket riding weather for most. However, some people like the cold.
Re: What is new in your little world?
My nephew who is 7 years old and lives in f**ing Guatemala just told me that he had been learning Scratch in school for the last two years as an optional subject in afternoon-school.
Granted, he goes to the german school there but still...
Fuck me...
His father (my brother) is smart at gastronomy, cooking and organizing a hotel. He has no clue about creative computer-usage though.
My nephew wants to design his own game now. Either in Scratch or Unitiy or some other SD-platform. You know, triple A. He knows the stuff. And keeps talking to me in spanish. And some broken German.
I'm going to teach him how to use Radiant if we can set things up, Teamviewer+Skype.
I think that's the best I can do for him now.

Firstly, enjoying being back home on the new tile flooring

Secondly, I've been having unexplained audio/video stuttering in Quake Champions coincidentally after a large December update. CTF at last but I can't play :tear:
Anyway, reinstalled drivers, changed settings but nothing seemed to fix... I then thought my PC components might be a problem... Checking it all out, seems my Corsair Hydro pump has failed as I don't see RPM's on their iCUE software

More checking, Googling and installing benchmark software, it telling me my CPU is running at about 90C -95C

Finally decided to get a 144hz Gsync monitor, had it for three weeks and so far it's been great for Photoshop, gaming, and movies.

And the new set of gear I've been rocking this season (cost more than geoff's income the last 20 years)

Merry Holidays gents,
First off, Raw, Doomer, you've both been amazing. Without you fellas we'd be fucked.
R00k,MJK and Ryoki--you three were the coolest bros I've ever broken through the matrix to meet. You've reminded me of why we're human. I think of, and miss you guys during these holiday times. Puffy, though it's a long haul for you, sorry we didn't connect in BC while I had a chance to brush one of the taxis (think I'm wanted in your country) in that mind-blowingly beautiful city of Vancouver. I'd like to meet you and your new bionic ACL some day. Maybe watch you crush some fools on the pitch. Badmotha, I'm gonna road trip it to Auzzi soon, and get fried with you and JNS, that's a promise. Feedback, dude you have so much Azn pssy in your face that you probably can't think straight, but some day you'll come back to earff after they think you're old, and then we can hang. There's most likely going to be a lot of life changes for 2019, as always, but very dramatically for those of us in the US. Math has again, become the default reality changer. We didn't speak out loudly enough before the election, which is our own doing,
Whatever. Happy holidays fuck asses. Later.

Do you keep a 'to do list' about? I do. Seems the only way I get to some of those menial tasks one simply must do.
I just finished mine. Last item was to fix a material studded bedhead to the gyprock(Aussie plasterboard) wall. It turned out easily. Time to relax with a beer or 4

Re: What is new in your little world?
I have an endless to do list in my head that I never get round to. Instead, I cross things off before I add them so that it never gets any longer.
Never gets any shorter either :dork:

Sometimes I put things on my to do list that I have already done, just so I can cross them off and start the ball rolling, especially if I am struggling with what to do next.
Re: What is new in your little world?
^I find that helps. I use an app called to.do that lets me set various deadlines for tasks, but I usually try to get as many things done in one day. I also like seeing the full list of everything I've completed thus far.
Re: What is new in your little world?
I don't know about deadlines but then my time is my own for the most part. It's a bent pleasure for me in seeing what's been done too.Captain Mazda wrote:^I find that helps. I have list for January and already put a line through one and that was painting a toilet wall. In the recent tile disaster they had to remove the cistern/bowl to lay the new tiles and when they did too a chunk out of the plaster board wall. These things happen. Anyway, a little filler and a couple of coats of paint, well 3 and it's done

What else is on that list you ask. Well I'll share.
- 1. Car service - 2 years and 30,000klms
2. Handles - looking for new replacement handles sprucing the place up a little
3. Chair slings - One of our balcony chairs, the nylon mesh (fabric?) looks like it needs repair
4. Table base - Same setting, the metal support leg/frame for the stone top needs repainting/respraying
5. Bath bombs - I have to make another batch as Winter here, what there is of it, is when they are appreciated by my Wife
water filter replacement cartridges - better to buy them in bulk, 5 sets last time to save trips to the wholesaler
6. Visit Doctor - Yearly checkup, referrals for specialists cardiologist, ophthalmologist & dermatologist
7. Changing ISP - Internet Service Provider (didn't have to tell you I guess) - I discovered I get a discount with my old telecommunications employer even though it has been about 10 years, but I did give them 20+ years of my service
8. Adds - Lodge advertisement for unwanted items about the apartment some discovered when packing stuff away for the tile replacement
9. Business cards -With a change in ISP, new email addresses so new introduction cards are needed. Black on white this time as the last lot lasting years were in pastel shades and not sharp enough
10. Wardrobe clean out - Old clothes and collectable need a good look at
11. Computers - Cleaning them up of rubbish and there's lots of it
13. Antivirus - additional to the above

Re: What is new in your little world?
I'm getting new shoes on my bike. Michelin Commander II's. I had been planning to time there replacement with an oil change and that was in another 500+ miles. But last weekend I picked up part of a razor blade in my back tire, (fortunately close to home) which has prompted an earlier than anticipated tire and oil change. What tires do you guys run?
Re: What is new in your little world?
My tyres and yours aren't interchangeable. You're looking at a different segment of the market for your cruiser than I would for my sportsbike.
Having said that, I got the Dunlop d222 sportmax's on there that the bike comes with out of the factory. Opinions on them vary from "shit" to "decent enough". I'm not going to blow a load of cash to replace perfectly good tyres though. They've done 11,000 kilometers and are still looking good. When they're due for a change, I'm considering Michelin Pilot Road 5's. Apparently they offer excellent grip with good longevity.

Re: What is new in your little world?
It's"tires"... Moron...
Re: What is new in your little world?
Tyres is the English spelling, and Tires the American redaction I believe :owned:

Re: What is new in your little world?
Due to me not being a native English speaker, my English ends up being a mix between US English and UK English. I tend to write tyres although I'm not even sure I'm consistent with that. I also tend to write color (vs the British "colour") due to the American spelling being much more common in graphics programming frameworks. There's probably other quirks like that

Hey, but you are still across the channel from 'The Old Country' and far from the good old US of A
