Well he DOES ride a harley...

Speaking of Harley, I went to several bike shops recently whilst shopping for a new ride and one of them was the honda/harley dealership here in town. It's really surprising how bad the service was there. They had like 20 - 30 different Harley's all on display and not a single honda sports bike. The only bike they even had was a 4 year old VFR tucked away in the back room collecting dust. When I asked about ordering one the sales guy basically tried to make me feel like I shouldn't be buying a sports bike which is why they don't have them in stock. Terrible service. Especially since I bought my last last bike from them! They were just as idiotic last year when I was buying a dirt bike so I guess I won't be buying from them again.

That's why you always buy used if you can. I got my 2015 in early 2017 with 1,100 miles and $3,000.00 in extras and paid $8,000.00 less than what the bike retailed for new.

Yeah I get that, I like new and shiny things. I'm selling my CBR500R for 4250$ which I paid just under 7k for.

What I'd really like though is to figure out why my XL100 is revving so badly... I may have to throw in the towel on that one and have a mechanic look at it. I've reached my mechanical limits on troubleshooting it at this point.

Yeah I got 4k for it. It had 32k on the odo and scratches on one side from being tipped over so not too shabby. It still ran great tho. I'm sure I'll miss her.

XL100, I haven't heard of that model in years and if it is a Honda it is years old... Have you mentioned it before in Q3W?

Yup I've been tinkering with it trying to fix the high idle issue.

Nice rear shot of the new bike.

Yeah. It feels a bit more nimble round corners, the handling characteristics feel much more pronounced than I expected despite a very similar sitting position. The clutch feels weird, the engine revs up and down so fast that it goes down to idle in the half a second it takes to shift gears which makes for awkward shifts. I'll get used to that though over time once I've wrung the cbr500r habits out of my system. I haven't dared go past 6k rpm, I'd say it's mainly because I'm breaking it in but it's actually that and I'm too scared to try. The acceleration is just blistering. At 4000 rpm it blows my old bike away in terms of torque which reminds me that even though it's just under double the cc's of my old bike it's got almost 3x the horsepower. Overall I absolutely love it though. It's getting a lot of "What is that?" comments which is cool. I think I might be the only one in New Brunswick with one. Most people around here ride Harleys.

I think they get acclimatised. Putting my Aloe on a windowsill after it had been on top of a bookshelf damn near killed it.

The Internet wrote:Six to eight hours of direct sun is best, although most aloe vera plants will tolerate some light shade or filtered sun at midday. A south- or west-facing outdoor area and slightly sandy soil provide ideal conditions for growing aloe vera, whether in a pot or in the ground.

Huh, thanks. That'll translate as a north- or west-facing here and I'll have to dial it down a bit because DAT UV fucking kills everything if you give it too much.

In other news, just went unconditional on a house purchase. Now the proud owner of... a mortgage ;_;

US to Belgium came a s a surprise offer from work, but hey it's a nice one year experience and I've been here so much lately I'm enjoying it... The kitchen renovation started with a contractor, but he sucked and I fired him and finished it myself.

Nice kitchen, I spy an Ubiquiti Amplifi.
Thanks and yes the Amplifi works pretty good I picked it up because of the Teleport that puts me on my home network via secure VPN from anywhere. Been using that a lot for encryption at coffee shops, hotels and to get my Amazon Prime and Netflix content while in Europe ;)
