good read  lot to process in that

also, this:
Steve Bannon, a Cambridge Analytica board member and former executive chair of the ultra-rightwing online site Breitbart News, was named Trump’s chief strategist.

I'm a bit skeptical towards the whole big data thing. If Facebook and Google know so much of me, how come they have yet to serve me an ad that was about thenright product/brand at the right time? All ads I get are usually for stuff i just bought.

or amazon asking if you want to buy a product again that you just bought and that doesn't need replacing for years, like an electric razor

or this, which came up on youtube before i installed adblock plus on chrome:

judging by the payments trumps team made to CA, they didnt really use their services till october. I think they got most of their supporters on their side by then and what swayed people mainly was the content of the leaked emails. The 15 million they supposedly spent overall is nothing compared to the 1.5 billion hillary paid google, and thats the real frightening thing when you think about googles power and capabilitys.

one thing i found funny is how when Eric Schmidt was drawing up ideas about Hillarys campaign he had to make a point and have everyone know there will be "no profiteering!" like its usualy the only natural and instinctive thing to do by these people...

https://wikileaks.org/podesta-emails/emailid/37262

Trump supporters are much more active and self organized then any other political group but still, there has to be some entity still to be uncovered
thats running trumps game online, similair to Hillarys CTR. If you look at pol and T_D lots of their posts are structured in a certain way and released in steady intervals...

The vibe im getting from reading posts and comments in these trump supporter communitys reminds me a lot of the time the bacon industry was pushing their campaing very hard world wide...
Im sure you remember not long ago when there was a period when you couldnt go online and read or watch something stupid about bacon. bacon jokes, stupid bacon recepies. It was a trend they artificialy created and paid for, but in effect bacon sales doubled. Powerfull thing and it will be used against us in many ways.

oh and, i dont know where i read this but marine le pen wants CA to work her campaign too.. Seeing how the US election and brexit unfolded im really thinking about betting some money on le pen... some polls have her winning already over fillon who is loosing points because of various "scandals" but the online beting sites are still giving her odds of 1:3 just like they did with trump...

because marketing isn't only about selling, it's also about confirming. if you keep seeing ads for a product you already own, you will start thinking you made the right decision and that creates brand loyalty.

these are implicit thoughts and feelings by the way so you might start rationalizing against it with explicit reasoning but that won't change your implicit behavior as quickly as you'd like.

also big data is about more than just bannering. better yet that's only a small part of it.
but i wont get into that.
