Titanfall 2
So this game is getting some crazy strong reviews....it hadn't even been on my radar until now.
Has anyone tried it?

Re: Titanfall 2
Depends on what the game is. I'll have no issues spunking up day one cash for Quake Champions or another DOOM, Portal 3 or....lol....Half Life 3.
Titanfall 2 will be in the pre Christmas sales for £25 I think so I'll pick it up then. It has me intrigued by this snippet;

That's high praise Indeed....Titanfall 2 is a very different game to its predecessor, but it has led me along a similar line of thought. If this were a game from the late nineties or early noughties, we'd likely look back at the mission 'Effect and Cause' as one of the greats of the genre, the sort of one-off statement of imagination and execution that you think of when you consider BioShock's Fort Frolic, Thief 3's Cradle, or—and I can't believe I'm about to make this comparison—Half-Life 2's We Don't Go To Ravenholm. It's that good. I know—I'm surprised too.

Hmmm. I'd like to try it.
Why don't they do demos anymore?

If his current condition even counts as living.
Re: Titanfall 2
I finished the campaign last night and it was surprisingly good. I bought the game for the multiplayer and didn't even think I would play it. Glad I did.Don Carlos wrote:Damn it Shaft. Re: Titanfall 2
I played the beta and liked the pace of the game. It seemed better than the first game for some reason but I can't quite put my finger on why. I wasn't a big fan of the original, mainly because I found the maps confusing and didn't give it enough time on account that I couldn't roam the maps on my own without actually being in a MP match which irks me. The few matches I played in Titanfall 1 were very one sided matches too that had everyone on the opposing team in mechs rotating attacks so that wounded mechs were getting healed up in the back while fresh mechs pounded my team in the front. IE: the other teams seemed incredibly well co-ordinated while my team did not.
That didn't seem to be as pervasive in Titanfall 2 but also it was beta so everyone was "new" to the game. The grappling hook was super fun to run around with though which makes escaping more of an option. I might get this at some point though.

Re: Titanfall 2
sale this week on origin
via some website..
"The standard edition and the Deluxe Edition are already 33% off by default, but you can add another 20% discount by using the code TITAN20. This will bring the price of the standard edition down to $32.99/€31.94/£26.65, effectively half of the original launch price. You can use it to buy the Deluxe Edition and get the very same discount, by the way."

I still can't read that title without parsing it as "tit-anfall" which is kinda funny in Denglish.

Heard the MP has a wallhack skill. Lame. Sounds like a game for n00bs.

So far, it's gone from quite good to absolutely brilliant. I just played what I thought was an impressive level and then hit the next one which was unlike anything else I have ever played.
