Hmm I thought I read Russia were having big money issues and were due to go bankrupt.

Imagine if Trump and Putin formed a new Axis of evil :owned:

I watched it. Pretty good but he leaves a lot of context out of certain things and he also is rather selective in order to have his narrative align.

Yeah there is a certain amount of 'narrative smoothing' going on, especially toward the end where the recency of the events resulted in a lack of processing. the Trump narrative seemed kind of forced, and his gloss on Brexit lacked the distance necessary to say anything interesting about it

his overall story of a world out of control is pretty on-point though, and the Sirkoff bits were fascinating

I agree about the Trump angle. I thought the narrative threads were a bit tenuous as well, but I figured that was just in my head because Memph posted the link. :owned:

The added insight into Gaddafi, Bashar and Hafez al-Assad's rise to power was worth the watch, though.

Also the new link is bad now, too.

I wish there was a more full rendering of characters like Qaddafi, Assad and Kissinger in this doc. For example, they portray Qaddafi as deeply unpopular in the Arab and African worlds but he was very popular at home for a long period of his reign. His third international theory was mocked in the doc but it's actually pretty damn cool (people power). It was implemented too, making Libya more democratic than most places on earth.

There is so much left out of this doc...
