I dub thee Data's Beard 2.0

Post by shaft »

Like a phoenix rising from the ashes my Z77 was reborn into an x99.

While technically this one doesn't have the "award winning" moniker yet, I think its fair to say it would crush the competition.

That looks pretty okay, I guess, if that's all you can afford.

What you should do is wait for Gwamps to post his weak-ass overpriced budget build again.

Thanks guys. The watercooling is pretty fun. I might try hard tubing next.

Sweet looking rig and great performance. The case looks really big though. What do you think you have invested in water cooling?

Case is 16.34" x 13.07" x 18.03", so its like a double width mid tower.

Watercooling was probably around $600. 2 blocks, 2 rads, pump, reservoir, tube and fittings. Take that with a grain of salt though, it could be done for much cheaper with basic components.

The water cooling looks really cool and that's enough of a reason to do it. But does it serve another practical purpose? Are you doing some insane overclocking?

Yes, also the more radiator space you can pack in your case the lower you can run your fans.

What kind of additional performance are you getting? Are you O/Cing the video care too?
