Anyone played any good point and click adventures lately?

Post by tnf »

Last one I played was the broken sword one...

I wish this genre wasn't dying...looking for something decent to get now. Some new stuff out - "The Moment of Silence" - but I heard that was dogshit. One called "Still Life" had good reviews.

Anybody played anything worth a damn lately?

was that the one where you start off in a plane crash?

if so, is it worth me spending money on?

Broken Sword - The Sleeping Dragon

Great game, I loved it....part 3 of a series..but you don't need to have played the first 2 to get this one.

No, it will make perfect sense.

It is a stand alone game...there are a couple flashbacks referring to the older games, but nothing in the plot that requires you to remember them...I hadnt played the others for years and had no problem catching up.

oops, i misread your post last night and thought you said i needed to play the other two.

I'll try and pick this up tomorrow. I also spotted Sam and Max and Day of the Tentacle for £2.50 which I could do with playing again.

the PnC genre is dead cause every little boy/tweener wants to play WWII, CS-based FPS games with lots of guns, explosions, etc.

btw, except for a few brilliant PnC games, most of them were pretty boring anyway. Nostalgists all of you.

yup. I hated it, because I was expecting you could ride the dolphin.

But you couldn't. :(

Bah, full throttle wasn't a patch on most of the other lucasarts games, never knew why it was so popular (definitely wasn't the music.....)

Well I just wanted to say I'm playing Still Life and it's a really excellent game so far. It plays sorta like resident evil but it's all point-and-click.

Pissed me off when Kings Quest, Space Quest, and all that went point and click.. typing and arrows owned so much
[size=75][i]I once had a glass of milk.

It curdled, and then I couldn't drink it. So I mixed it with some water, and it was alright again.

I am now sick.

You must get all the broken sword series, they own hard.

My favourite genre is point and click, and it's a real pity there's more shooters than thinkers. I've played pretty much all the classic PnC adventures, and the Zork series was great too. I wish lucas arts and revolution would bring out some more. I really hope there'll be another broken sword game.

tnf, I've never played them, but I hear the Versaille series is pretty good. My girlfriend doesn't get into games too much, but apparently these are intriguing enough to get her to play. I'm pretty sure they're old as hell, though, so you might have trouble locating a copy and getting it to run.
Just a suggestion.
