You can get a Maserati Ghibli for under 70k. Beautiful cars and they definitely have good performance, not your average car so I'm guessing repairs would be expensive.

Anything German is a winner.

The 4 series is a beautiful car but I am not sure how practical it would be for you and your large family.

I drove a 2012 M5 the other day and its a whole world of fun and very practical (Good boot space, 5 doors and if you drive it nicely you can get between 25 and 30mpg out of it).

I spend too much time going sideways, which is fun but not so good for the tyres. Going sideways was number 3 on the list of things my new car must be good at.

Get DiRT Rally and practice
Playing racing/rally games when I was younger definitely helped my skid control in a real car, definitely wasn't wasted time!
