Sonic the Hedgehog 25 Anniversary!

Post by xer0s »

Are these threads a thing now?

Regardless, I played the shit out of Sonic back in the day. I might fire it up on the arcade later...

MD had some nice Games but i didnt the liked Game-Physics in Sonic-Games. Speed & Scrolling was nice, but jumping alyways felt like youre under-water.
You better play Gunstar Heroes, Aladdin, Sparkster, Hard Corps, Turtles-Hyperstone Heist... AAawww <3

But that MD/Genesis SoundChip is such a crap compared to the SNES!

The fact that the SNES soundchip was superior doesn't automatically mean that the soundtracks were better. :alert:

Unless we're talking about Castlevania and Street Fighter. That shit still rocks to this day.

Same with the FF series, amazing compositions in those games.

I still fire up sonic every now and then, I have emulators on my phone and I actually own the sonic games to play on mobile. It just sucks that the controls are so horrid, I can't even beat Dr Robotnik on stage 2 cause the controls are kinda shit.

I think it was the fast pace gameplay that really sucked me in. Memorizing the maps so you could haul ass all the way through the map without having to stop. Good times...

I was always on the sonic side - didn't have a telly growing up, so for handhelds the colour Game Gear with sonic 1 and 2, shinobi, wonderboy and streets of rage always trumped the Gameboy : )

I was young enough to get "Sonic the Comic" from the newsagents every two weeks. Still have the first few years worth of comics boxed up in the attic, along with my dad's old Victor, Valiant and Eagle issues
