It fills the room with a rich wall of sound and it's honestly a bit hard to tell it's just one speaker, weirdly enough. So i'm quite happy really! Getting another one of these seems like overkill, though at some stage i might add some Play 3's to it. Or something. I'm not sure what the next step will be really, getting this one also gave me the luxury to postpone any such decisions for a while.
Yeah it looks like they achieved their design goals well. Ease of use plus no wires sells haha, I'm glad that you like it
So how are the Sonos set ups treating people on here? I had a 20% off code for Sonos and I used it to acquire a Play 5 which should be here on Tuesday. I am excited to see how it sounds
Been using mine for a few years and still love how simple it is just to play music. The Playbar and sub work like a champ every time when watching TV and sound pretty amazing, just a bit expensive.
I have not tried the new Play 5, but I hated the original.
I have the play 3 and the sound quality is amazing as is the bass response.
The Play 1 is all you will ever need for a single room, you will not understand the sound that comes out of that thing. I started using this for outside parties as well, it covers my 30 x 30 patio area with sound nicely.
Can you really get good sound out of a wireless-speaker?
Im still running a pair of B&W DM305, Nice sound for a nice price!
Wired up with some kimber-8pr to my ol Technics it sounds great/at least for me
I would never buy wireless speakers... Better buy a AKG or Sennheiser Headset

Headphones are a solo experience, unlike speakers. I prefer a proper sound system when possible, too, but wireless speakers win with respect to plug & play and portability.
