This video is amazing at so many levels.
What struck me first is how the graphics appear to be little more than what you'd see at the typical Windows screensaver nowadays. However, these motions are strangely satisfying to look at, something the screensavers lack.

It's also quite funny when he mentions it takes the computer about 3 to 6 seconds to render a single frame and the whole process of programming a single sequence, rendering it and getting it ready to be viewed takes about 12 hours. It's limiting in getting emotionally involved on a creative level when creating these graphics, like a piano player would when playing a piece of music. Having instant feedback like the piano player has would ease this process. He then continues to muse about how this would be groundbreaking.

Nowadays, we can do this, but it has become such a mundane thing (you could easily render this kind of thing in real time on an iPad and have it so that you can use multi-touch controls to influence the motion in real time) that it's almost become quaint and uninteresting.

I laughed out loud when he complained computers weren't fast enough :smirk:

very interresting thx for sharing,

that reminds me the incredible feats of demomakers with 3D in the 90's, they were ahead of most games.

That's amazing, what have been possible to make in such oldschool era  I bet there are not so much people that could actually make that :)
