Breakout

I did this a few weeks ago with some friends, fun times. They have them setup with themes to each room. I did the Prison Break theme and had to bust out of jail with some friends. We sadly did not manage to escape but we were so close, another 20 minutes or so would have done it. Fun little evening out if you're looking for something different to do. :)

Yeah the puzzles are fairly challenging honestly. I figured I'd have a pretty good edge on this having played so many video games but it wasn't obvious. We solved roughly 75% of the puzzles and got hung up on a few others. My advice if you do it and you're with a group, make sure everyone stays focused on a specific puzzle/task. We wound up kinda doing a bunch of different things at once and I think that's what took up most of our time.

I did an Escape Room at an old castle tower here in Toronto. It had a WWII espionage theme and was fun, although this one fat piece of shit couldn't fit through the narrow spiral staircase rofl

I've done three escape rooms (one in Amsterdam called Sherlocked). These things are popping up everywhere nowadays.

Friend of mine did one and said it was good fun. I remember how frustrating the crimson room games were though!

Yeah, these things are pretty popular all of a sudden. Seems like a fun thing to do with colleagues

Why not just kick in the door or the wall?
Would that be cheating?

Yeah from a puzzling point of view that was the best of the three (although those in Delft were more theatrical with some really cool effects and props). They built a new one called "The Vault" which we're planning to check out some time. The gimmick there is that it isn't an escape room in the sense that you escape, but you have to break in instead.

I've done two of these now - great fun and a brilliant way to spend an evening with some friends :)
