Ax?

plained? ...I thought you were smarter than that :(
Something has to change, voters are in a very bad position this election year. Taking the good with the bad, in life that is pretty much every decision every person has to make every day.
I decided Trump's flaws do not outweigh his positives, the other candidates on ALL sides fared worse in my opinion (Bernie is a very close second though).
Apparently that makes me a racist.

Glad to hear you think Trump's flaws outweigh his benefits and decided not to go voting

Apparently he appeals to those who feel voiceless.

https://www.rand.org/blog/2016/01/rand- ... urvey.html
Among people likely to vote in the Republican primary, people are 86.5 percent more likely to prefer Donald Trump as the first-choice nominee relative to all the others if they “somewhat” or “strongly agree” that “people like me don't have any say about what the government does.” Using statistical techniques, we can conclude that this increased preference for Trump is over and beyond any preferences based on respondent gender, age, race/ethnicity, employment status, educational attainment, household income, attitudes towards Muslims, attitudes towards illegal immigrants, or attitudes towards Hispanics.

The role of “people like me don't have any say…” is not significantly related to preference for Cruz, Rubio, Clinton, or Sanders as the first choice for party nominee (where Clinton and Sanders are rated by likely Democratic primary voters).
So what do you make of Ax and plained's responses phant? Ax is willing to forgive Trump's fascistic tenancies and plained doesn't seem to acknowledge they really exist. That's what I'm getting anyway.

who says i don't care about the politics of my own country?

i care about U.S. politics because they tend to get themselves involved in the rest of the world's affairs and they are powerful enough to do so.

the person who will be president will have enormous power. it's best to pay attention to what those who aspire to the job say and do.

you like flim flam. it's crazy to me.

American politics is no longer about voting for the person who would most likely be the best president of the country. It's a media circus frenzy, and the vote is more of a popularity contest than anything else. Voting for a president is no different in the American mind than voting for a contestant on American Idol or for prom queen. It's the only reason Trump is actually listed on the ballot, it doesn't matter what his politics or policies are anymore, so long as he can keep his face on TV Trump will remain a household name and he'll win the popularity contest.

@plained: The U.S. is still the largest world superpower and Canada's biggest trading partner by far. So American politics has perhaps more of an influence on Canada overall than Canadian politics itself. Our system works very differently, and we have multiple parties which can form a coalition as a balance of power. You don't have any of that in the U.S. political system, so I can sympathize with PuFF's concern. What's bad for the U.S. is also bad for Canada, and I can agree that Trump would be nothing but bad news.

I'm not american so it's not like I care who gets the job but I really think Sanders seems like your best choice.

I just can't take anyone voting for Trump seriously, why on earth would you think he's going to be good for your country? From the outside looking in at your politics he seems like a cancer and will likely embroil you in many situations designed to enrich himself and his friends at your expense.

Sanders might not be the most charismatic but at least he has a record of public service and seems to have been in the past fighting the fight for those that needed it and if that's not worthy of a leader than I feel like a lot of you that vote for trump have really lost touch with reality.

Your presidency isn't a reality show and most of your candidates seem to be vying for the position in a manner similar to a circus show. We had a guy like that in office up north and his name was Steven Harper. We had to put up with YEARS of him making fun of Justin Trudeau's hair as his political rhetoric and when the vote came down we pretty much said fuck you and sent them from a majority government to a minority. Trump is a rich man who had a silver spoon growing up and doesn't seem to have ever needed to struggle to survive. He's fucking quoting Mussolini in his rhetorics for fucks sake. How on earth can you back a man who's so clueless he thinks quotes from a genocidal dictator are ok.

And let me be clear here. I also think the quote is nice, but if I was vying for a world leader position I think I'd do a little research and find out who said it before using it. It's his complete lack of insight into the shit he says that should ring alarm bells for anyone voting Trump.

Hillary on the other hand is just a fucking lunatic who shouldn't even be on the platform let alone be a viable choice. Her track record for corruption speaks for itself.
