Anyone watching the X-Files reboot?
The new series where Scully & Mulder are years older.
The tenth season of the American science fiction television series The X-Files commenced airing in the United States on January 24, 2016, on Fox. It consists of six episodes. The season takes place fourteen years after the ninth season, which concluded airing in 2002. The revival was announced on March 24, 2015, by Fox, who confirmed that six-episodes would be produced. The season premiered on January 24, 2016.
We got the episode here last night.
I didn't think too bad at all but this season being only 6 episodes I have to wonder why bother; but it was nice to see them back again Skinner and even Cancer Man.
Season 10 seems to have picked up exactly where the rest of the seasons left off, it's not some rehash or cash-grab or remake. It's quite true to the vibe of the original seasons, all except for the obvious fact that both Scully and Mulder have been upgraded with smart phones, to which they make some comical references. Scully definitely has alien DNA, she doesn't age and has actually gotten hotter.
S10E01: This is one of those episodes which references a lot of X-Files lore, it's pretty mediocre watching since it kind of serves as a refresher bringing everyone back up to speed.
S10E02: Good episode, good tension and suspense. I'm glad the 6 episodes aren't going to be strictly an X-Files mythology series, but remains quite diverse.
S10E03: This scene is all that I remember about this episode. All else is forgotten...
Saw the first episode. Classic x-files. Mulder believes everything complete strangers tell him, Scully just rolls her eyes and evidence sticks to its habit of disappearing or getting destroyed. Skinner is showing less skin now that the lower half of his face is covered in hair though.
Can't say Scully got hotter. Her face looks botoxed to hell.
Anyway, it looks promising. Will watch episode 2 asap.
I wonder how the show will go. I'm all for anything that doesnt suck these days. It isnt that hard to make this work out really well. I'm all for her blouse being open. She looks good.
bitWise had a super funny description of this reboot
"The first episode of the x files reboot is one of the worst things i've ever seen on tv. Its like they hired a shitty writer to do a parody of the original series and then replaced the director's adhd meds with speed during production."
It's really really cheesy. Don't remember the original being like this. Ep3 really feels like someone will yell 'live from New York its Saturday night' at any moment.
If you didn't see the final episode don't worry as it looks like more episodes may be on the way. Clicky
I was a little disappointed in the abrupt end last night. Our episode here was titled "This is the end" but it appears to be named differently overseas.
