Eh? It's a power supply! WTF! It goes in the PC and gives you power. Why the fuck do you want to look at it? Fuck I don't even look at my PC at all, it sits under my desk gathering dust.

It curdled, and then I couldn't drink it. So I mixed it with some water, and it was alright again.
I am now sick.

I have read countless forum posts of them going bad and/or destroying people's motherboards, CPUs, GPUs. They are total shit. They use a budget PSU and just "rice it out" to get it to sell.
If you want modular, go with the Antec. Personally, I think modular works out very poorly. You end up having more cables, because each cable only connects to 1 device. So people end up with 10 cables running from their PSU to various components, instead of the 4 cables I have powering my entire PC. The other 2 are just tucked away behind the PSU.

The antec has "standard" cables. Each one can connect to 3 devices IIRC. But since I've got 4 drives and a floppy being modular isnt a huge benefit.

It's the cabling improvements that make me want it. I could care less about the appearance, as you say.
Denz wrote:I just bought a new 500watt PS for $25.00, Installed it. I can't see it and it works fine.
Now why would I spend $150.00 on the same thing?
As it's already been argued in this thread. Some people care how their computer looks. Others don't. Other reasons for a better PSU are better stability/reliability, lower noise, improved efficiency.
Regardless, this particular PSU is deadly to lots of computers.
I suppose if you had a glass case and you could see everything, I guess a PS that was all decked out would be good, but for the most part you never see the PS.
As far as Stability and Reliability whatever, it seems that manufaturers are all getting pretty good at producing a good product at a better price.
lol, 500 watts for $25.00 Good luck trying to get anything remotely close to that out of it, if it doesn't just spontaneously fry all the shit in your rig like shit PSU's can easily do.
ya screw all the stupid rice on your rig
my best PC is in the crappiest looking case i have cuz i just dont care to switch stuff out for aesthetic appeal
if ur looking for a budget psu, look into the roswell 450-500W psu's. They've been getting many good reviews and are less than $40

Woah, you're like... the alternative, to the alternative.
I'm so into you
*ahem*
I guessed when I clicked on this thread that it would be about this PSU. It's a real eye-catcher. Sadly, not many online stockists in the UK. I specced it in as part of a 'dream' PC I penned out when I was pricing an upgrade a few months back.
Never materialised, buuuut that piece of kit would definitely be on the list.

That's supposed to be a fairly reliable cheaper PSU. $90 for 500 watts. Also, the cables are all sleeved which really helps get all those cables out of the way.
