Specialists who get paid a shitload can be worth every penny though.

As for IT people, i could fucking shoot ours (the important piece of software i use all day every day is down yet again as we speak) but i'm also painfully aware we have shitty IT support because my sector can't afford decent people in this field.

Exactly, you get what you pay for. The 15$/h IT support guy/girl knows the bare minimum to do whatever job he/she does.
