The company I work for has a pretty simple policy setting: any folder a user can write to, they can't execute from. E.g., shared drives, documents, their desktop, the temporary folder. It stops pretty much anything dead.

(fortunately I'm a domain admin and have the admin password so I'm not wanting to kill the sysadmin every hour of the day)

Wasn't it Krackus who works at an IT call center help desk with an Indian flag on the ceiling? He's probably calling people to let them know that he works at "Microsoft" and they have a "virus" on their computer.

That was actually at a travel agency I worked at for a few years and they're just as sketchy as those "Microsoft" guys are. If you're ever offered a chance to buy a timeshare my advice is don't.

Not seen the video, but if a 'savagely mistreat your IT support colleagues day' version of it ever comes out let me know, i'd probably enjoy watching something like that.

Got run flat.

The consultants we have are important because they cost £100-400/hour. Support, £15 an hour.

By that logic we should get rid of all paramedics and have them become football players.

I can't find the image but there was great photo which went something like;

Things are going great: "Why are we paying IT all this money?"
Things are going wrong: "Why are we paying IT all this money?"

Very true.

IT support are kind of important to the business, even at £15 an hour

i find the more people are paid, the more you can do without them. we didn't have a director (my boss) for a month, nobody cared; i go away for a week, everyone fucking panics

IT is important. One support desk guy isn't, no one person in any business is important. Everyone is replaceable in a matter if weeks, work still gets done.

aspirations are a joke.

THESE SOCIETY PEOPLE ARE STUUUUUUUUPID.

The internet shouldnt have been allowed to everyone. Not everyone can responsibly handle the internet. This is why we have/need prisons.
