I'm listening to Répons . Although it uses a tone row, it was written well past Boulez’s hardcore serialist phase, and almost looks backwards in form as it is presented as an updated concerto grosso .

Speaking of French writers, have you ever read any Robbe-Grillet? La Jalousie is one of my all time fave books. (an English translation)

nope. haven't read much french literature to be honest, though i did come to Rene Char through Boulez - full of lots of arresting images
