It's pretty real and scary. The atmosphere is fenomonal. When you see the Alien for the first time you get that same adrenaline rush as you'd get in DayZ when encountering another survivor. I really like Alien Isolation.

I actually liked exploring an empty spaceship, but I'll admit, it's not near as good as the rest of the game.

playing this, not feeling it yet.
I'm not one for jump scares as they bore me, and the humans seem to magically know where you are after you've been spotted.
The atmosphere though, so delicious.

this game is far more than jump scares. It's a deeper kind of terror. For what it's worth, I played it on hardest, the way it was meant to be played.

Indeed. I'm only in chapter3 so I'm guessing it'll get more to my liking.
A motherfucking Joe made me jump though, as he crept up behind me asking if everything was alright.
Fuck off, I'm here looting some crates and reading some terminals :olo:

Gets much better after the third act.

also, fuck playing this on hard. it's hard enough on normal in the later levels, that alien isn't stupid.

fucking coward. You think Ripley had it easy when she was dealing with that creature? Kids these days, expecting everything to be handed to them on a silver fucking easy platter.

Beat the game a few days ago.
It gets a lot better starting from chapter 4. Sneaking around androids got tiresome quick though, not scary or tense, just a chore. The alien however is a right cunt. Spent more time hiding under tables than needed in fear of the skank being right behind me.

I felt the game undermined itself nearing the end though. They went from Alien to Aliens in the course of one chapter.. now Aliens is a fine movie but it's a huge tonal shift to throw at the player midchapter.
The last few bits with the oneshot facehuggers was just annoying. You're forced into memorizing where they come from so you can flamethrow them in time.. made me think of those Medal of Honor sniper levels. Boo.
The actual ending could've been done better I felt. If they'd just gave it some more time before the light went on it would've made the Isolation bit a lot more powerful.

All in all, good game. Would play again.

eh I didn't feel this way, but it's been a while since I played it.

Seeing Sevastopol from the outside was pretty mindblowing.

And yes, the alien was indeed a right cunt.

Did you play it on hardest?
