Have you considered not sucking?feedback wrote:How the fuck can people play this game on a controller? I was trying for the first two hours but after dying due to wrestling with the controls a few times I gave up and used mouse and keyboard. It's so much faster and more intuitive (especially navigating the pip boy) that I can't understand why anyone would put up with a controller here.

Re: Fallout 4
also only idiots use a controller when mouse/keyboard is an option...
Re: Fallout 4
I assumed it was a console game first which is why I used it, since you're an idiot if you try to play arkham, witcher 3, MGS V with a keyboard and mouse simulating a controller

Re: Fallout 4
I play fine with a controller. I also do stupid shit like play Forza 6 with clutch and manual gears on a controller too just fine if you want to go crazy with the "how do you do" shit.
Building in the game, jesus christ. I've probably wasted 5 hours doing nothing else but build a settlement and it's looking pretty good. Scrap nearly everything you don't want to keep. The one thing you should keep an eye out for are lamps. If you see lamps out while you're wandering, grab that shit, bring it back to your base and scrap it. You'll get copper for it which is honestly one of the rarest fucking materials and you need it for a lot of shit.
It's kinda disappointing how you install a water purifier for your settlement but can't actually use it though.

Re: Fallout 4
Get the Scrounger perk and you can scrap more screws, copper, etc...
Re: Fallout 4
Was working to get the local leader perk, might have to invest in that one too.
Re: Fallout 4
My rule of thumb is 3rd person controller, first person m/kb. If its multiplayer then always m/kb.
Re: Fallout 4
I haven't really thought about it... U know... Real life...

Sorry, Scrapper perk, not Scrounger...xer0s wrote:Get the Scrounger perk and you can scrap more screws, copper, etc...

Yeah almost got that one last night. I found a factory though with a shit ton of gears and parts. I've started building up the red rocket gas station as my main base of operations but need a lot of supplies to do what I'm doing so trade routes is something I have to get going asap. Need lvl 14 though I guess to setup trade routes.

Re: Fallout 4
Hah, from the comments it seems 4 is nearly exactly like 3. Well, with base building and trade mechanics added apparently. Enjoyed 3 for what it was mind, a strangely gloomy experience that was pretty good at messing with your head... think i somehow expected more from 4, but on second thought more of the same might be alright actually.
I'll probably have to pick it up then. In a sale. When it's not almost 60 fucking euro's.

Re: Fallout 4
I played 3 and it was ok but I find 4 is a lot better. The base building is fun, the power armor is really cool though. They changed how it works and now you need fusion cores to power the suit and when you get in the thing it really feels like you're driving a huge machine as opposed to putting on a piece of armor. It gives the armor some heft and a feeling of being invincible but without power cores you can't use it.
So right now, I've got mine tucked away in a garage with about 2% power remaining in the core while I look for some more cores. All the ones I've found so far have unfortunately were being used by people who intended to kill me.
I was happy I'd built my base though when the first radiation storm rolled through, I happened to be close so I just hid away while it passed and worked on upgrading the suit and my weapons. Wasn't so lucky the second time and had to clear a base full of bandits to find shelter.
edit: Oh an pro tip, if you have power armor laying around in your base take the power core out and carry it with you. Raiders will steal your power armor if they get in.

I have several fusion cores. They seem to be laying around like rocks. Or maybe I've just gotten lucky?

Re: Fallout 4
Stopped playing after about 10 hours. Just feels like none of the dialogue matters (pretty sure it doesn't) and everything is solved by shooting people. Now I've got Witcher 3, MGS V, and fucking Fallout 4 laying about with like 10 hours each.
I love quake!
Re: Fallout 4
That's pretty much why i stopped buying games shortly after release - just don't finish them anymore, keep losing interest about halfway.

I don't feel motivated to get good at anything except competitive multiplayer with friends. Thus why DOTA2 keeps bringing me back like an abusive relationship
