does anybody know a way to recover deleted pics off android 4.2 (internal memory-non rooted)

i usually use recuva but now the phones op system will only let it show up in file explorers as phones and not scan-able drives.

They should be uploaded at near original resolution. Have you tried downloading a photo from there to check?

Click a photo then click the top-right button (more options) > download.
