I'm Gobsmacked!

Post by lars63 »

I thought for sure someone would post a topic/thread of the pope's tour so since I haven't seen one yet and his America tour finishes up today what you all think? Would watch again? Once is enough? I thought he was spiffy and would watch again

Nice :)

OT: I am not much for religious tours but, from what I have seen of him, he is a 'good' Pope. Good in that he appears to be with the times.

Edit: grammar

Relatively to other popes, certainly.
I hope it sets a precedence for future popes and the catholic church in general. I think they have to keep modernizing and drop backwards stances like being against the use of condoms and such because anno 2015, that sort of nonsense is costing them followers. Step-by-step, bit-by-bit they'll change because otherwise they'll turn into this self-deprecating institution (as far as they haven't already).

cut the Catholic church some slack. it isn't easy figuring out the rock-solid theological reasoning needed to believe something today which is the exact opposite of what you believed yesterday based on different rock-solid theological reasoning
