You are very wrong. And before you write me off as just another yank yahoo I'll tell you why. Even people who are for strict gun control (like me) will never abide by the idea that guns should be outlawed to citizens. It's a fundamental constitutional right in the US and it exists for a good reason. If ole GW decides in '08 he likes things the way they are and refuses a peaceful transfer of power, then there will be a violent transfer of power...

I'm not saying that's even likely, but we're going to be prepared if it does ever happen. That basic idea of citizen gun ownership is NEVER going to change in America (and it shouldn't) - so deal.

Evil has nothing to do with it. The assumption is that you're DANGEROUS - not evil. Take a situation like the one in this thread. Some guy steals a car, and in the process of trying to evade the police causes mayhem and endagers lives, THEN pulls a fucking gun. Are you kidding me? Take everything into account and you'll conclude the cops had every right to shoot the bastard.

Take into account that alot of people in the US are just plain stupid and can't think quickly - or clearly - enough to respond "correctly" to the situation. I find it hilarious when I see a 250 lb cop but his knee across someone's neck trying to cuff him and then are amazed that the person bearing his weight might react.

lol i'm not saying this country rules, because it doesn't. i probably dislike this country more than most Americans on this board because i've been outside and lived outside of the US and i've seen what other countries are like. if i could scoop up my family, it'd be no problem.
