I dunno man... wasn't very impressed with those visuals. I'm especially hesitant to give em money since they showed how stupid they can be with the multiplayer in their previous games. Who the fuck releases a racing game that you can't race against other players? Only time trials. Fuck that shit. I don't care if that's how Rally races are, that makes sense when you're actually putting your life at risk but in a virtual environment give people the choice.

The best part was getting disconnected in a time trial race. Like WTF? Just upload my time, how fucking hard can that be!?

Graphics don't look amazing on that video but assuming the car physics are realistic then I'm pretty tempted . Reminds me of playing Colin Mcrae Rally or whatever it was back in ~1998 on my PC with a racing wheel. Brilliant game for the time.

I believe it was dirt 2 that pulled that fiasco.

You know what a great racer in similar vein was? Star wars ep 1 pod racer. I'm not kidding, it was an awesome game.

I always found Trackmania used to make me feel sick after a few minutes. No other game ever did that. Looks like it's a fairly common thing with it.

Yeah? We had a 15 man Trackmania-only LAN a month or 2 back at work. Gamers and non-gamers alike joined in. No one had any problems with it.
Most of us made custom tracks as well. We do this regularly and its always a blast. Especially than one time when I made a track with YMCA as background music and semi nude males as trackside billboards (and screen overlays synched to the music) :smirk: oh yeah, the track was shaped like a dick as well. Everybody hated me afterwards

If you know they're there (the switches) it's not that disorienting. Loops and lots of other stunts are really hard to do in 3rd person.

Memphis wrote:I also picked up some of those 'thumb grips' that click onto the sticks and tried the pair of taller ones, adding a solid centimeter of height and behold, my wrist aches are gone! As a plus-plus, control of the car has improved tenfold. Having that slight additional leverage gives so much extra play and improvement to gradual steering, it's astonishing. Cannot recommend enough for anyone else who has trouble with gripping either style of pad. The only downside is that if you're rough with the stick, they will pop-off (which is actually improving my pad use tbh, I have tendencies to tense-up grab, grip and bash my buttons - especially in DR).

So I kinda wasted fifty squid. Oh, and an extra £20 if I want to use the 'wireless', cos the 'play and charge' kit I bought still needs an adapter to work. Fucking M$.
Have you considered the new elite pad? it comes with multiple thumb sticks.

I read that some people were getting cramps in their hands with the Steam controller because of the lack of thumb sticks.
