There were more fatal police shootings last weekend in the US than there were in all of England, Wales, Germany and Norway in 2014 combined. Police in Germany fired 85 bullets in 1 year, compared to cops who fire that many bullets in a single incident in the US. WTF.

Honestly, I think we're past the time of respecting people's second amendment rights. There's also something much deeper that's harder to specifically identify, having something to do with a culture of veiled permission toward violence. I don't know how to address that. It's weird. Murder (and police violence) is obviously still prohibited here, but it's so much more common. It's a go-to crime here at far higher rates here than elsewhere. Whatever it is that enables that as a "normal" option for criminals needs to be addressed. As a non-sociologist/non-psychologist, etc, it's difficult to pin down the specifics on it.
