Ah some new (old) names! Ten years ago I had trouble with a map, and although these people were Mappers (with capital M), I just sent emails to whom I think could help me... I figured, they wouldn't mention their email address on their site if they mind being emailed to :| Amethyst7 helped me a lot ...

No, I meant there have been good tutorials and high quality movies for well over a decade... If you want people to try your map, it's best to present it at the highest quality possible.

This hardly is a long line of sight, it's just a corridor... And the grey starts pretty close by too. Don't know what this could be though.

Seismovision supports automatic downgrading to an earlier version of the game (AVA) when a demo is started.

There also was another program called Quake 3 Version Switcher, but I haven't been able to find that anywhere.

Mike Martin made a few weapon skins (all the way down) but it may not be what you're looking for? If the server doesn't support the files, it won't work online.
Most of the time these files will be used for movies.

Gameplay is much faster than this though, it seems g_speed is 250 while most servers use 275 or 300.
Really not that different from Q3 at all :)

The brush needs to be fully visible in your editor (that is also the starting position when you load the map), that way it will be lit entirely. After the map is loaded it needs to go half into the wall, or whatever position you want it to be.

For a first test map to find out how the whole mapping process from beginning to end works out it's ok, but most test maps don't end up on the internet.

It helps if you roll up a piece of paper and use that as a pinpointer to locate the noise. Open the side panel and start it up (careful not to touch any moving parts with the piece of paper).
