Re: Shared Map

Oh don't get me wrong, it runs... At about 12-25fps @ 800x600/Low settings. But I don't think that's enjoyable enough to run around a map and have fun. It's got a dual core Proc too. Intel onboard GPU is what's hurting me. I was thinking of getting a XPS 1730 but i want to make sure there's nothing ...

Re: Shared Map

I have Q4 on my laptop, I just set up the +set com_allowconsole 1 +editor so i can use q4 editor. Only thing is my laptop has a Intel GMA950 so playtesting would be out of the question.

Re: UPDATE! [Q3A] [2-4 FFA Tourney] oildm1 [BETA5]

Wow man thanks! That's like the most feedback I've ever got at one time! Yeah I really need to fix the lighting. It's way too dark. I have added a green armor for cpma play. I've also done a bit more with the architecture and made it slightly more complex. I did it to make the lighting more realisti...

Re: UPDATE! [Q3A] [2-4 FFA Tourney] oildm1 [BETA5]

Ah, plasma climbing. That's what I like to hear. This map has overgone a major overhaul since my last post. Some architectural, mostly cosmetic. 4 more days and i'll have some screeny goodness of the new beta. In october I plan on starting a new map (maybe even completing it), so i'm going to start ...

Re: UPDATE! [Q3A] [2-4 FFA Tourney] oildm1 [BETA5]

Where can I get this entity list? I tried to use google and I even looked on the Promode Discussion board, but alas, I have found nothing :tear:

Google brings me endless results about the Concrete Pump Makers Association. :olo:

I played 3 vs 3 with bots and it was a bit lonely, but at least there was plenty of space. 6 on 6 would have been more suitable. Plus it was a quickie. I like it though, I think it's a solid alpha.

I'm still onboard.

I like what you've done so far ix-ir, clean brushwork and good open spaces (thanks for the input on my tourney map too!)

Still learning 3DS max too. The modeling part is easy, MaxScript is what's breaking my brain now.

I've been learning 3ds max, so when/if the map can make use of some models/whatnot i'd be more than happy to help. I downloaded the map the other day and i really like the progress!

Crouchsliding. It could also be called Strafeducking if one was so inclined to do so. It involves the same mechanics as Strafejumping, very very similar. You start off with a circle jump, and do a few strafe jumps. When you're about to hit the ground again, hold the alternate strafe key as well as d...

Thanks for liking my flag room! As far as chains, maybe break the actual floor the flag is on away from the ledge, and suspend IT by the chains. That way their not in the way, but still in the map? I say make the blue criss cross section a little bigger (like a dent in it towards the flag side with ...

Sock's suggestion does a great deal for the hallways, I agree. Keeping them from being too long and seeing too far with the high/low is cool. The idea of the blue path ending in a ledge is cool too, kind of like a lookout point. This is my idea for the flag room, I think it adds a little more vertic...

I like what you've done with the halls. I think we should ditch the bottom room and build an alpha. It wouldn't be hard to add it if it was really needed, seeing as there is only one way in and out. ix says: "... or turn the current top level into 2 fully realised levels." I think that wou...

The beta of this map was really fun, mostly because it was different from all the rest. I wish Q4 played on this laptop. Alas, the GMA950 onboard video is not built for anything but embarassing 3DMarks. My desktops x1950 on the other hand... too bad I missed the Quake Wars beta signup, and i'm a yea...

G-G-G-G-Gangbusters!!!!! Shhhh. shh. You've said too much already! That's two game modes you just made up. Escort, and Ransack (you should have to take the money to a safehouse, not back to your base). You could even go as far as to have to occupy a certain area of a town/city/hood whatever for a ce...
