Re: BJ skin
Well, I've decided to whip-up a BJ skin for Bitterman. If you guys know a more suitable model for him (instead of Bitterman) post a link here. Anyways enjoy - this was long overdue! http://www.mediafire.com/?3434njzw11acd17 (No icon, sounds, team colors) How would one go about installing this? As f...

Quake 3 - Cloud Shadows and Layered Clouds.
Upon playing Team Arena I noticed that many of the maps have large shadows moving across the ground in sync with the clouds in the sky. Is this a Team Arena specific feature or a simple shader that could be used in normal Quake 3? Also, regarding clouds. Would it be possible to place a normal cloud ...

Q3A - How To Make Flickering Lights?
The title pretty much explains this one. I've seen them on several Quake3 maps and am curious as to how it's done. Some have been subtle orange flickers within hallways lines with torches, whereas others have just been bright-white flashers, like a dying fluorescent bulb. I would imagine they're all...

(q4) Compiling Error...
I realize this is Quake 3 World, but was hoping I could get some help for Quake 4. When I try to complie, I get this somewhat unsettling message in the console: Map_SaveFile: C:/Program Files/Quake 4/q4base/Maps/opposingforcetest.tmp writing C:/Program Files/Quake 4/q4base/Maps/opposingforcetest.tmp...

Hmmm, thank you obsidian. I'll tinker around with those methods and see what happens. They certainly sound as if they have potential, but the area I'm doing is rather large/open and often times viewable from the entire map, so I don't know. I guess it'll all just come down to FPS in the end. It's no...

Environmental Effects Through Shaders?
I’m currently working on an arctic themed level and am curious if it would be plausible to create the effect of falling snow with shaders? I’ve done this in the past for other effects, such as rain, but never in such a large area. Before I had merely created several brushes and sloppily crisscrossed...
