Iraq rebuilding under threat as US runs out of money
Key rebuilding projects in Iraq are grinding to a halt because American money is running out and security has diverted funds intended for electricity, water and sanitation, according to US officials.
Plans to overhaul the country's infrastructure have been downsized, postponed or abandoned because the $24bn (£13bn) budget approved by Congress has been dwarfed by the scale of the task.
"We have scaled back our projects in many areas," James Jeffrey, a senior state department adviser on Iraq, told a congressional committee in Washington, in remarks quoted by the Los Angeles Times. "We do not have the money."
It is now undeniable that the mess over there is beyond fixing. We don't have the money to rebuild anything because we're throwing all our money at fighting the people of the country.
Without rebuilding any of the infrastructure, noone will ever become any happier than they already are, and sooner or later, even the very few Iraqis who still support our removal of Saddam will be looking for ways to kill Americans. There is no longer any way to win, if there ever was.

The whole rebuilding thing is merely a facade anyway.

As long as my friends come home I don't give a fuck anymore. I've heard rumors they will be back in November.

Seriously, if there was a country populated totally with idiots and retards, the US would still be the dumbest country on earth.
