The new models will be available in a 2OGB (NW-A3000) and 6GB (NW-A1000) versions and come in violet, siler and pink colours with matching earphones (unlike the Apple's new black iPod nano).

The models will measure W55.0mm x H88.1mm x D18.7mm (the thinnest part is 11.5mm) with a 1.5in screen for the 6Gb player and W65.2mm x H104.2mm x D21.4mm (the thinnest part is 13.5mm) with a 2in screen for the 20Gb.

Users will be able to interact with the device via its advanced organic EL display. The mobile phone style ‘Home’ menu offers nine options, easily selected via the four-way directional button.
sure looks sick.

I'd get one if it had no copyright protection. They fucked themselves doing that with their minidiscs.

Gives suggested (?) pricing at the bottom of the page
The new WALKMAN will be in stores by early November 2005. The price is £199 for the 20GB and £169 for the 6GB in the UK.

lols 100 quick cheaper than ipod (though halg disk space .. hmmmm) - my ipod is currently fucked (1 year old and now freezes all the time) - this looks like a candidate to replace - specially if it actually gives a decent battery life

Looks pretty sweet though.

On the one hand I think it looks damn good, especially with the display being merged into the entire front.

OTOH The first shot makes me suspicious:

It seems to 'float' a good inch above ground.

What kind of shit is it packing in the back?

Would like to see an 'ass-shot' of the thing.

"advanced organic EL display"
meaning:
pidgeon semen, with which our very own Feedbag is intimately familiar.
hope it sounds as dope as it looks.

The look is quite "difficult" to my eyes, but I guess the silver version will rock it. If the price and battery life is good, i'll be on it.

Shadows can be deceiving. Probably has a slightly curved edges on it and a flat back giving the illusion that it's floating.

Jesus, that was vicious. I'll be sure to think twice before posting on this forum while it's guarded by uniball :icon7:

Try this page, it's a 3D flash movie you can rotate.

If you go back to the home page they've got an interesting 'Bean; MP3 player as well (also branded walkman?)

The display is really neat, I'd still prefer an iPod nano though. It's smaller, and it has flash memory instead of that delicate little hard drive.

Edit:

Does the nano still have the "click wheel"? If yes, then that's another reason.

yes.

the hdd in the ipods aren't considered delicate unless you do some fairly extreme stuff. this is no different.

FM/AM is not a deciding factor for me. i can see only sports/news nuts wanting such a feature. a mic would be handy also.
