Needin some help with finding the bright skins and
changing the gl_brightness things?

gl_modulate is capped on most servers in VQ2.

First you probably want to use the R1Q2 client for playing, it's tons better than vq2 and supports a bunch of fixes and stuff:

I am also uploading the pak's that have bright skins, changed text, some improved textures all designed for better net play. This awesome dude from esreality gave them to me and I will upload his cfg's as well so you can have a peek if you wants.

I used to set gl_modulate low, and then once map loaded, i'd set it high. That way, level is nice rich and dark, and players and items glow.

just be sure to set gl_modulate back to low before map reloads, else everything will be washed out.

When you install R1Q2, download the extra 'R1GL' dll, and slap it into the main Q2 dir. Also, download their updater. There is an updated version of the GL addon that the updater will catch.

Here are the 2 paks and the cfgs:

(Click on the 'free' button, and the download link will appear after an x number of seconds).

Then check out his cfg and see what you like and edit anything to fit your preferences, and you're good to go.
