Yes I know, but I remember during 911 my friends were sayings no less then 50,000 people died because the buildings and the subway had a lot of people.

I don't know if there were like 600,000 people
Unless some have a real positive mind or can find someone who can change their life, most of them are already half dead.

Half my point. There seemed to be the notion in what Pete said that terrible tragedy is followed by depression and a lifetime of drugs.

In mentioning drugs, presumably meaning the drugs themselves are somehow a big probem, and not the depression.

I guess this one could get messy.

it's called post traumatic stress, and after the world wars they did have some medications maybe lithium, but i think they only used them on severe mental disorders. For everybody else it was just get over it. Of course, there was always shock therapy.

I'm probably going to be called a wingnut, but I am starting to wonder if the reason noone is being allowed in (like the Red Cross, aid from other countries, aid from other states), is because they are trying to hide the real number of dead for political reasons. I'm afraid there could even be over 100,000 but of course I definitely hope I am wrong.

yup, I'm thinking that myself, the greater number of dead there are, the worse of a tyrant Bush is going to seem, expect a cover up. I think the U.N. should send in observers to monitor the body count.

I doubt very much the US will actualy give an acurate count of the dead to be perfectly honest so we'll never really know.

You can't conceal the deaths of people like that, since they have family and friends who will still be alive.

I expect the figures to be accurate when they're eventually worked out.

You can't conceal people from their families and friends - but if only one organization is responsible for getting them out, then only that organization will know what the true number was, unless there's some kind of grass-roots organizing to compare and compile lists.

That's not true, you say a couple thousand died if 10,000 died and I doubt anyone would know the difference unless they began collecting their own stats. Which isn't really that easy to do either.

Right, if I tell you that 3000 died would you not assume that your 4-5 dead family and friends are counted in that total? Or would you go 'No, you are not counting my lot in that!'.

The numbers will be lowballed to make it not look as bad for Bush. Hell if they can do it with their own soldiers in Iraq they could do it to some poor assed minoirity sector too.
