I'm getting a wicked deal on it as well, the wayne gretzky hockey bundle for $175 cdn

I've been doing some research on it as well. Like not to upgrade to fw 2.0 because you loose emu support as well as mem stick movie access. Also bought a 1gig mem stick off ebay for $112 cad shipped, should be here next week or so.

Now, for those with emu programs and having the cpu clocked to 333 ( instead of 222mhz ) how much game time do you get with the psp. Also how warm does it get during exstended periods? What are some essential accessories, other then the obvious screen protectors.

Games I'm looking at are, wipeout: pure, hot shots golf and maybe twisted metal.

Future games, GTA stories ( fuck yeah ), devil may cry, gt4 mobile, socom, etc.

Looks like a nifty gimmick, can wait to giver a go tomorrow.

Cmon Don, be sensible, it's just a little internet browser, you know how fast the novelty on those things wears off. :p

Playing old skool 16-bit games is the best thing ever. :icon14:

Scarface, I haven't seen it go above 40 degrees (the snes emu tells you in the menu). With 333 you might see it fluctuating 42-43... but that's in a hot room. In a cooled place it will probably stay at 35, maybe a bit lower. I don't really use 333 as most games run fast enough at 266 (and some can be at 222), the emulator is getting better and things will improve. Mario RPG runs a bit slow even at 333, I'll just wait for a new version.

Oh BTW, 2.0 will not let you play with homebrew stuff like you said, but also 1.52 However some guy is gonna release a little utility soon that apparently lets you downgrade 1.52 to 1.5, so if you end up getting 1.52 you should be able to play in little while.

2.0 will probably never be reverseable as they improved on a lot of things. I don't know if the white psp's come with 2.0 or not, but pretty soon that's all you will be able to buy anyway.

Won't they spread 2.0 through the games as well?

Yeah, from the looks of it they will, and the bad thing is, some of these games (gta for sure) will need the update, so even if you where able to somehow play with the 'loaders' that are surfacing to bypass it, the game wouldn't launch or work properly (damn that's a lotta commas :p ).

GTA might just be the game that will force me to upgrade.

So how much does a memory stick duo cost? I'm not going to buy the PSP simply because it'll cost me €250, and then I still won't have a game and I still need to buy a memory stick. In total I'd be set back like €350 euro I think, far too much for a handheld (that's more than a plain XBox 360).

The DS cost me €150. Game included (yeah it's a demo, but hey, at least I can play something with the thing).

Yeah but how soon is a 32mb one filled up?

With my gamecube, the large version of memory cards cost like €30 each, but I already own three of them simply because I need the space for all the savegames.

Unless your gonna have 30 odd games straight away then it would take a while to fill
It al depends on what your gonna use it for...?
I have a 1 gig stick as i have music, pictures and a film on there. But a 128 meg stick would last u forever when it comes to saved games and you would have room for an album or a small episode of summat?

It's not Mario (I didn't enjoy Sunshine at all) but games like bloody Beyond Good & Evil which use half a memory card :(
