Some time back, in one of these discussions about god and the meaning of life, that keep popping up from time to time, someone posted about a writer who published his thesis that allmost every aspect of human society is used to distract from the fact of ones mortality. I think this guy won the pulitzer price or something.

however: does anyone of you know who this guy was and what particular text i'm talking of? i'd be very happy to know this as i'm interrested in reading his stuff.

?

books :olo:

actually, not sure - but that sounds a bit like something Dennett might write - although that is just a guess and it could be way off.

As would I. I'd like to hear another persons understanding of something I already believe.
