So then we DID create the United States. If we hadn't treated the rebels in such a way that caused them to revolt they wouldn't have created the United States.

i can't imagine a brit politician starting off saying "my fellow britons..." but then that may be something to do with the mixture of disdain, contempt and fear with which your average uk politician views the people they govern

And yeah, I know what you're thinking.. Why the hell have I got a link to an obscure random thread from 12 months ago? Well, when that thread was made, I saved the link in my favourites because it made me laugh so much, I had to keep going back.
