Overrated. Highly.

I have yet to see one thing that Asimo does that is not already in use in some machine.

Example: THe motion physics are wank. Just becuase he doesnt fall over when he walks/runs doesn' tmean shit. I saw some project footage of some MIT students that create a robot with only one leg that could 'walk' by hopping around. It was able to balance itself via gryoscopes and an onboard CPU.

Example2: Asimo is remote controlled. Honda is a master of deception when it comes to promotion of Asimo. Watch carefully next time Asimo makes a public appearance for the huge team of scientists standing at the edge of the scene controlling him.

I could pick Asimo apart for hours, but I have to jet. For the record though, I'm not saying Asimo isn't a technological feat, but I am saying I as one person, am not impressed because it does nothing I haven't already seen in other devices/machines.

security. they would make good nightwatchmen. dress them up a little, program a limp or some other human traits into them.

good god jugger, give it a rest.

What's the point of them making this robot, is it only for the commercial? If so, seems like it would just be easier to make a suite for a child to run around in.

it's progressive automation. these kinds of experiments can have thousands of applications in the near future.

well, i was more impressed on how fluid that bastard's movements are. it's a bit freaky. i had recalled he wasn't autonomous so that didn't surprise me at all.
