Looking for a new FPS. Was this one any good?

Any others out there that are worth playing right now? I've seen a few from less than well known publishers that looked alright - and BF2 isn't an option, regardless of how much you folks like it.

I've enjoyed Swat 4 so far, haven't really played much of it...but seems like a very rock solid game. I bought that and Brothers in Arms at about the same time, I played all of 15 minutes of bia, honestly...and never touched it again.

Swat 4 is kind of hard to control...so much different stuff you have to do...but it's very challenging imo, and once you get the 50+ controls figured out it's even better.

I enjoyed it, though I've hit a spot where controlling your two teams simultaneously has become required to do well at all, which I suck at.

How would you say it compares to the multi-team controls in games like the rainbow 6 series, where you've got insertion teams, extraction teams, assault teams, etc. all to worry about in one mission?

I found in rainbow, the most effective tactic for me was just to have my team hold on teh outskirts of the action, while I went into the building and took everyone out myself. Although, nothing was cooler in game than having a well planned out multi-team attack go well - for example having all your teams flash and charge a room from multiple doors.

I remember playing one of those games back on the original play station...and loved it. I liked being able to control every aspect of your team like you could...though I don't remember much about it.

Unlike Rainbow, if you die, game over..

Theres no 8 lives like in rainbow.. and its REALLY nice to have at least 1 of 2 squads with you while clearing rooms.. Tho, the AI isnt total shit like in rainbow
