ABC doesn't seem to be as good as it used to be. It starts my download out fine, but then it just gradually goes down to 0 kb/s. And it shows 333 seeds. WTF

What happens when you try the torrent in Azureus or the mainline client?

Never used Azureus...

Azereus fucking sucks. I've never had more disk IO errors and lock ups from any other program.

Fucking POS program can actually cause my NCQ HDD to enter into such a confused state, I have to power down my PC to get the computer working again (just restarting doesnt work, the BIOS doesn't detect the HDD because it's in some kind of seizure).

As soon as my DLs are finished in Azereus, I'm ditching it and trying BitCommet.

Oh, and everything you ever heard about azereus being a memory hog is true. Garbage program would idle up to a couple hundred megs of memory after running for a few days.

So in summation... Azereus sucks balls, don't ever use it.

haven't had any trouble with azureus (until just then, when i tried to type it).

Sounds like the problem is your computer, not Azureus.

azureus working good here, i likey the auto-update feature.

like any software, it could have bugs on certain configs.

While I'm sure it's something on my rig being triggered by azereus, I do not blame the rig because no other program causes a system crash like Azereus (or at all for that matter).

So which ever... Azereus has found some fucked up rare Achilles heel in my system, or it's just a piece of resource hogging trash that can't properly buffer files without causing an endless loop for the HDD.

Yeah working fine here on Azu. It's a shame it's not the same for everyone because if it works you you then it's far superior to the other clients.

Oh well, nothing's perfect.

LAFF! The other thing Azereus can do, that I still can't figure out, is crash my little LInksys router.

Goofy little situation, but if Azereus is running for more than a few hours, my firewall stops working and has to be reset.

As far as I can tell troubleshooting and testing the firewall, it's not the firewall. Using ABC torrent client (despite it's consistant crashing) I didn't have any of these problems. Like wise, there is no other event or situtation that causes my firewall to crash like Azereus makes it.

ROfle, I run a server off this connection, so at times there can be tonnes of active connections going into and out of the network. Never any problems. Until I fire up Azereus. :P

I love Azureus. Configure it right, and it works like a dream.

What should I config to stop if from causing my HDD to go into an endless loops thereby completely locking up my system?

Hmmm. I know there is an option to 'allocate new files on creation' which will trash the hd for a few minutes (esp. with large files) but after that it's smooth sailing. I haven't had that particular problem you are having anyway.

I've never had any problems with Azureus since installing it, I love it.

Ok, I got Azureus and it seems to be working a hell of a lot better than ABC.

Azureus can use UPnP to automatically configure your router. Sadly, some routers don't implement that too well, resulting in problems like you're experiencing. Turn it off in Azureus and configure your router to forward the right ports. PS: you might want to use something other than the default (6881-6889) because more and more ISPs are blocking or slowing those down. Pick a port in the 10,000+ range.

Hmmm. I had already tweaked the port settings, but didn't think of the UPnP issue.
