Good diff application?

I'm looking for a good application for file comparison. I've used WinDiff for a while (version 5.1, dunno if it's an old version or anything) but it just lacks a lot of options I'd like to see. Here's a few features I'd like it to have:
- filter which files I'd like to compare (such as *.txt)
- sort files on compare result
- Open individual files and get an overview of (color coded) differences
- compare entire directory structures
Anyone got any suggestions?

I would highly recommend installing Cygwin and putting diff in there. It is the best diff utility I've ever used.

er, okay, no offense, but I was rather thinking of something more "windows-like" with a user interface that consists of more than letters and a blinking caret

Sorry man, I've never seen any tool like that for windows. Good luck.

The diff tool build into SmartCVS is very good IMO, but the drawback is that you can only diff between files which are placed in CVS or your working copy.

WinDiff does the job for me, and seems to do everything you listed ? (edit: except sorting)
version 5.1, too

Well it doesn't do the sorting and the filtering, but the other two items are so important that I'd list them in case anyone would suggest an application that doesn't support those features.

It doesn't seem to be able to compare folders with all the subfolders it contains, or am I missing something?
