i have a avatar im trying to finish. I go tthe basic idead down, but im so horrible at photoshop, this was what i came up with.

I cant figure out how to make it not so blocky. Its a compilation of 2 images, a kid on a soccer fields walking a line and a beach image. I was triyng to tie them together and think i did ok, but the transition is abrupt and the whole image is just a block, looks odd, like maybe the edges need to be rounded or something?


Anyway, just if anyone is bored and is into goofing with PS.

the problem is that this is a full image with foreground, background, etc.

Not usually avatar material - most avatars are shapes on a transparency layer (or something like that - i don't know terminology).

Yours is basically a square image on a "transparency"

that's the source of the blockiness i think.

but yea - rounding the edges might help.

There is no good way of doing transparency on this one. the only way is to add matte similar to the background online.

That one you did odium looks nice, is there a way i can like round the edges.


yea jules i know its a odd thing for a avatar cause its a squarish image, but i cant think of another way to do it and retain the image properly


Survivor that image looks good, but the roundness of it will look weird, itls going to be under another icon and itll just be weird. Im just trying to figure out how to round the corners a lil.
