Amazing! Where there is will there is a way I guess =) I wonder how he would have done working in a sub during WW2 or something listening for enemies.

He's obviously a button masher.

I saw him on the news last night. Uses sound cues apparently. They showed him pulling off some pretty good combos in tekken or something...

no wonder hes good at Soul Calibur 2

(im not saying that SC2 is all about button mashing, but at lower level to mid-level play, its suprisingly effective. higher level play is a different thing.)

i hope im not taking away too much from the guy. sounds like he plays other games too and they make it seem like he's decent at those.

as for the mashing thing: at beginner level play, since noobs dont really know what they're doing, mashing is effective.

at medium level play (what i think youre referring to) where people arent button smashers but actually do do moves and combos and stuff, the players arent proficient enough and their execution isnt good enough to consistently beat button mashers. its like they're trying to do certain moves and shit but they dont have it down well enough.

and in soul calibur where practically everything you press comes out and does something different, mashing works pretty well.

at high level play, the game and balance break down. sub-systems rule the game and it becomes somewhat of a turtle fest. the risk-award ratio isnt very good.

anyway, i still very much like SC1/SC2. I like SC1 more though :)
