ok so here's the deal. i've been looking (allbeit not too thoroughly) for some way to control my media over the network. here's my setup: i have a desktop on which i use itunes (i finally caved in) to play my music. usually i am using my laptop instead, which is a feet away from my desktop. so i'd like some way to control my music from my laptop. my inital thought was remote desktop, but in rd, it starts playing the music on the laptop which sucks cuz laptop speakers are pretty weak.
so any suggestions?

Well, I have no idea other than remote. And in the setting of your remote desktop go into your "Local Resource" tab and change the sound options to "leave at remote computer".

This just uses the current logon to play with it- so you're not going to get the sound transfering to your PC.

I doubt it would be too hard to code something, over a webbrowser say to do it though.

aye. a company where i worked a few years back had a 'musiccomputer' on the floor which could be controlled by everybody through a winamp plugin
