Is this game worth picking up, I'm sure it is but who here would say so?

Good, let's hope this patch isn't as fucked up as a football bat like the last one was. And it's about fucking time they gave points for destroying the enemy's assets. Wtf was the point of the Spec Ops class, otherwise?

Yay, a favourites tab! And points for blowing up stuff, that's also very good.

I wish the game wasn't so god damned expensive. 49 dollars for a PC game?
I'm pissed that I missed the $35 offer at Fry's.

Weren't N64 games that expensive several years ago? Hell, I'm just glad I can fianlly play it smoothly with no lockups for as long as I want. Too bad it took two fucking Gb of RAM to do it.

I've spent about 48 game hours as of now (and that's on ranked servers only, I've played on unranked too), and that's more than I spent playing through both DOOM3 and half-life 2 combined.
I'd say it's definitely worth the money. It's a fucking great game, and it will keep getting better with every patch.

Yeah I hated that shit back then too. I ended up buying most my N64 games second hand.
I might just have to put some money aside. I don't want to wait too long to buy it.

It's well worth it if you have the horsepower to run it.

It runs great on my XP2600+, 1GB of RAM and 9800Pro (with everything on medium and 4X AA).

Its £35 here, £5 less than n64 games used to be. But thats still the most expensive game on the PC rack (GameCube games are still £40 because nintendo need the money... Sad...).
I want the game so much but i'm, just not sure. What if i get really into it then i want to play Q4 as well? I want a life dammit :icon33:

I don't know wtf the problem was with my system, XP2500+, was 1Gb of PC2700 now 2Gb, and a GF6800GT. As I said in a different thread, I'm now getting "lag" or stuttering when I play offline. Online is OK, but some of the servers are extremely laggy. I usually stick to the 16 player servers because of this.
One hell of an addictive game, but unfortunately all the BF1942 and BF:V retards have migrated to BF2.

The only problem i had with getting the game is the fact that some of my money indirectly went to EA.

You might want to try out the BF2 demo, containing the Gulf of Oman map here:

Holland is also a proper name for our country!
Posted: Tue Jul 26, 2005 3:18 pm
by MKJ
its not actually
The name Holland is widely used as being equivalent to The Netherlands, but as Holland is just part of the Netherlands, this is a case of pars pro toto, as with England incorrectly being used instead of the United Kingdom, or (inversely) America instead of the United States of America. The origin of the misnomer lise in the fact that Holland was the economic powerhouse during the time of the United Provinces (1581–1795). After the Napoleonic era, Holland became a mere province of the Kingdom and was split into North and South Holland in 1840.
