I've got everything looking and working like it should but this one page. I would like to cut the main area down into 3 sections. One horizontally, and two that run vertical.

Code: Select all

map description...................................
______________________________________
images        |               description
images        |               description
images        |                description
ect               |               description
ect              |             description
ect               |              description
instead of everything just thrown in like it is. I can draw a picture if that doesn't explain well enough.

What would be the best way to achive this? I'm completely new to css so I'm kind of lost whenever I venture into the .css file. I've changed a few things and have the basic handle on it, but a few things just throw me completely off.

Just make your entire site out of flash so you can annoy everyone.

Got it from here. I got sick and tired of working for hours getting a damn table to look right and images to fit the right way inside the tables ect... Haven't had time to really sit down and learn the stuff I was trying to do so I thought for now, until I could really spend some time reading, I would work with something already made...I'm actually learning a lot more this way than I thought I would.

Why not just use div layers?

Code: Select all

<div id="Whatever" style="position:absolute; left:"###"px; top:"###"px; width:"###"px; height:"###"px; z-index:1"></div>

divs are the way to go sir

Code: Select all

<div style="width: 750px;">
horizontal
</div>
<div id="leftbar" style="float: left; width: 250px;">left vert bar</div>
<div id="middlebar" style="float: left; width: 250px;">middle vert bar</div>
<div id="rightbar" style="float: left; width: 250px;">right vert bar</div>

Nice choice.

I started experimenting with divs on my latest project: http://perfunction.com/designs/cougarcourt/
The pics at the bottom are actually loaded in at random :icon14:
