Save even more money and get the XBox, because if you're strapped for money to begin with then upgrading your computer to play games you will find that you will need more and more to get it the way you want it. You could spend up to $2,000 for a really good gaming rig.

How much will the new xbox cost? I'm guessing $400+ plus $50-80 for each game?

I doubt I'll be buying the new one for quite a while. Hell I don't even have an old one yet.

theyre not a 100% sure yet. right now nVidia is working on a crossover chip for the 360 so it can play all games.

Well IIRC when the PS2 came out they said only certain titles would work on the PS2. I believe both companies say that because there will always be bugs, especially since the jump is from nVIDIA to ATI.

That would be nice

I hope they can do it, because that would be a big selling factor for me. I have all these XBox games and it would be nice to have one system play them all instead of having two XBox's hooked up.

I have the perfect solution for you. Give me your money and I'll buy you an Xbox 360 when they come out cause I'll give you interest on your money. Then when it comes out you won't need a computer! Sound like a plan?

Oh yeah, any game. Any game that's out on XBOX.
Muh.
But seriously, you can buy all the latest consoles that are out, at almost any given point in time, for the same or less than the fastest PC at the time, so do that.
Of course, there's Internet access (proper access, like, a browser), game editing, extra content, and cheaper game prices to factor in. If you can live without those, grab a console. Otherwise, PC.
Could I sum it up any more concisely?
